Incorporated in 1997, CWT-SML Logistics a Dubai-based company launched its first owned Distribution Centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone with the focus of facilitating our customers’ growth in the MENA region. CWT-SML Logistics provides the best of its kind warehouse infrastructure, supported by efficient Third Party Logistics (3PL) solutions and the knowledge to fulfill our customer’s business needs in the region.

Backed by over 20 years of logistics track records CWT-SML Logistics is able to provide the technical expertise in the area of logistics management to help our customers meet all logistics challenges in this region. Our nimbleness, tested logistics model and state-of-the-art information system enable us to respond quickly with feasible options to our customers’ supply chain challenges in the MENA region.

CWT-SML Logistics believes in sustaining and preserving our environment for the sake of our future generations. Our Green Effort in Warehousing includes but not limited to:

Warehouse with sustainable construction

  • 50mm PIR insulation cover for roof and wall facet to reduce heat transmission into the facility.
  • Double-skinned Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) Skylights to reduce energy consumptions during daylight operations.
  • LED hi-bay lightings to reduce energy consumptions during night operations.
  • Hydrothermal Protection Coating to reduce heat transmission into facility by more than 50%.
  • Motion sensor tap to reduce wastage of water.

Load Optimization to improve payload

  • CWT-SML businesses has minimum transaction relating to transportation, which we understand is the main contributor of carbon footprint globally. As a warehouse provider, we believe that we can contribute through better load planning to increase the payload per trip and reduce the number of transportation trips than is required.
  • We have introduced of a process that matches the day’s order against the different truck sizes to increase payload per truck to reduce carbon footprint in transportation.

Reduce & Recycle Waste

  • Used carton will be reused for packing of loose outbound orders as much as possible, and with the approval of customers.
  • Unused / unwanted material shall be properly segregated into its respective categories for recycling (e.g. wooden pallets, paper, plastics, etc.)
  • Special waste management procedure established (holding tank, spillage control procedure, etc.) to manage waste like lubricants to avoid any environmental contamination.

Improve Stock Management

  • Cargo movement within the warehouse can be reduce through proper put away to storage planning by adopting the respective Product ABC categories. Product with the highest movement shall be classified as “A” and stored in locations near to the loading dock while product with the least movement shall be classified as “C” and be stored in location farther away from the dock and highest level on the rack. In doing so, movement from MHE shall be reduce and energy requires to recharge these machines shall also be reduced.
  • Appropriate material handling equipment shall be provided in the facility to reduce the amount of manhandling of the product to reduce damages through extensive handling.
  • Accurately managing the FIFO and/or FEFO criterion to control expirations and products from going spoilt.
  • Established quality control process to better control the “re-conditioning” of return goods to ensure higher reusability of the returned goods.
